The MoU is a non-binding agreement valid for three years, which may be extended for another three.
This document also stipulates technological cooperation between the companies in the Exploitation and Production segment.
Petrobras’s Executive Exploitation Manager, Jonilton Pessoa, and YPF’s Vice Exploitation President, María Fernanda Raggio, signed the MoU. YPF runs the Rio Neuquén Field in Argentina, where Petrobras is a partner. This field lies in the Neuquén Basin, one of the leading sedimentary basins in Argentina, famous for its unconventional oil and gas resources such as shale gas and shale oil.
“We’re always willing to collaborate with companies whose skills can be supplementary to ours and help us diversify our portfolio, such as YPF, a Latin American benchmark for exploiting unconventional oil and gas reserves,” declared Jonilton.
